A teacher, identified as
Daniel Ekemezie (aka Bakassi), father of two, who teaches Mathematics at Ukpata
Community Secondary School in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area was alleged to
have gone to the house of his uncle, Patrick Odoh, at about 8pm on that
fateful
day on the pretext that he wanted to discuss with him, only to tie his mouth
with cloth and dragged him to Ofiakputu forest where he tied him to a tree for
five days till he died.
The secondary school
teacher in Ukpata community, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Enugu State has
allegedly killed his 83-year-old uncle over an age-long disputed parcel of land
in the community.
Ekemezie, who is currently
helping the police, on interrogation, admitted to committing.
Vanguard gathered that
Ekemezie, having noticed that his uncle had died, hurriedly buried him in a
shallow grave. Enugu State police spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, said the
decomposed body of the deceased had been recovered from the shallow grave in
the forest.
Amararaizu noted that
Ekemezie pleads with the son of his late uncle to forgive and take the land as
he recently lost his wife and was left alone with two kids to care for. He said
that investigations has since commenced
in full scale, pointing out that the suspect would be charged to court as soon
as investigations are concluded.
