The security personnel waded off attempts by the students to forcefully gain entrance into the complex.
Members of the NANS stormed the National Assembly complex on Friday, June 9, to protest the non-recognition of their president, Mr Chinonso Obasi. The students who were in their dozens had a scuffle with security agents attached to the complex as they tried to gain access into the building. The student body has been enmeshed in a power tussle for a long while.

Following the power tussle, the association has now split into two factions.
As at the time the incident was going on, the National Assembly plenary was ongoing as both chambers are celebrating two years as legislators in the 8th Assembly.
