The Archbishop of the Anglican Communion, Kaduna Diocese Bishop Timothy Yahaya on Sunday, July 9, warned that dividing Nigeria will have an adverse effect on West Africa and the world in general.
While speaking at the third session of the twentieth synod of the communion at the St. Paul's Anglican Church in Nigerian, Yahaya said if Nigeria breaks up, there will be no hiding place for anyone.
The Archbishop also said neigbouring countries will not be ready to accommodate the number of refugees that will emanate of the country breaks up.
“If today the country breaks up, there would no place to hide, there will be no place to go to.
“Our neighbouring countries cannot contend us as refugees.
“The number of cars in Lagos alone is more than all the cars in West Africa.
“So, everyone should be interested in what is happening in Nigeria," Yahaya said.
A member of the national executive council of the Arewa Consultative Forum Mohammed Abdulrahman said that those backing Nnamdi Kanu were misinformed illiterates.
Abdulrahman said Nigerians of Igbo extraction are only using the secession agenda to remain relevant in the political space.
He said that Nigeria's unity is non-negotiable as Nigerians must learn to discern the real motives of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
