Barcelona's €100 million Bid For Brazilian Midfielder Phillipe Coutinho Rejected

Barcelona's €100 million bid for Brazilian midfielder Phillipe Coutinho has been rejected by Liverpool, the Telegraph reports.

It is understood that he will not force a move to Spain by handing in a transfer request although he is willing to link up with the likes of Lionel Messi. Barcelona were rocked by Neymar's departure to PSG for a world record deal and are looking for a replacement for the player and the ageing Andres Iniesta. Liverpool however remain insistent that the 25-year-old will not be sold.

The Brazil international signed a new five-year deal at the club in January that does not include a release clause.

According to Andy May, a top reporter at BT Sport, Coutinho is set to be unveiled by Barcelona on Friday, August 11, 2017.
