Sandra Bullock has donated
$1million (£774,000) to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The actress has joined a
host of Hollywood stars who have pledged money to the American Red Cross
following the devastating flooding in Houston, Texas.
"I'm just grateful I
can do it. We all have to do our part," Bullock said.
The American Red Cross
called it an “incredible gift”, adding: “We're so thankful.”
"It's times like this
when we do receive such an incredible amount of support. Especially during
times of disaster, people see what's happening in Texas and our hearts all go
out to them,” said American Red Cross communications vice president Elizabeth
Penniman.
"Having someone like
Sandra Bullock make this kind of commitment, it helps bring people together and
open their hearts and be even more generous."
Other celebrities including
the Kardashians, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, comedian Kevin Hart and
singer Jennifer Lopez have all donated.
