The governor on Tuesday also gave a directive that the executive body of the association in the state should be dissolved with immediate effect.
The Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, has suspended the activities of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria in the state.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Segun Ajiboye, explained that the action of the state government was sequel to series of complaints about illegal activities of commercial motorcycle operators in the state.

The statement read in part, “The suspension of the activities of the association follows several complaints of illegal activities levelled against the body.”

The statement also advised commercial motorcycle riders in the state to comply with the directive and maintain the peace.
It added that the government would thenceforth manage the affairs of the transport union until the issues in contention were sorted out.

“The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties and Strategy is to take over the running of the activities of the association in the interim,” the statement said.
