Troops of the Nigerian Army
are currently locked down in a gun battle with Boko Haram terrorists in
Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
The insurgents made their
way through a cashew plantation to the Jiddari Polo area of the state.
Residents are reported to
be in a panic and are fleeing the area for safety.
Also, heavy gunshots around
Giwa Barracks were heard.
