The promising beautiful
Oluwadolapo Oluwadamilola, who flown in from the United States of America to
attend the burial ceremony of her grandfather died.
Not a happy day to
the family of Nigeria’s Ambassador to Hungary, Dr Eniola Olairan Ajayi, on
April 20th, 2018 as she was burying her father, she lost her daughter in the
process.
She didn’t know that would
be her last day on earth as she was reportedly hit by an in-explainable tragedy
on the day of the burial.
The crème of high society,
had on that fateful Friday, congregated at Iyin-Ekiti for the burial ceremony
of Pa Oluwatoyin Owolabi Ajayi, who died last January 21. All was going well at
the church ceremony, which had the minister of power and steel and Eniola’s
mentor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and his wife, Erelu Bisi in attendance, until tragedy
struck.
Sources disclosed that in
the midst of the burial celebration. Ambassador Ajayi’s daughter, Dolapo,
started to complain of headache. All efforts to relieve her on the spot proved
to be exercise in futility. She was later rushed to a private hospital, where
she gave up the ghost after the doctors tried their best to revive her.
Predictably, the orgy of
festivities at the burial ceremony came to an abrupt end. The uplifting music
being dished out from the bandstand by gospel act Yinka Ayefele was replaced
with serious wailing and lamentations from the shocked guests.
Ambassador Ajayi, a former
Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology and later Commissioner for
Environment in Ekiti State, also doubles as Nigeria’s representative to
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia.
The late Dolapo Ajayi, CPA,
was born on 22 May, 1991. She was an Assurance Senior Associate at
Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Washington DC, U.S.A.
Dolapo’s remains were laid
to rest yesterday at the Vaults and Gardens, Lekki, yesterday, with a Church
Service, conducted by Daystar Christian Center.
May her gentle soul rest in
Peace as we commiserate with her family on her demise.
