

A group, Kogi Advocate for
Good Governance has enlisted its voice and support for Engr. James Akale, to
contest for House of Representative, Bassa / Dekina Federal Constituency in the
coming elections, describing him as a square peg in square hole.
In a press statement
released in Lokoja today, the Coordinator of the group, Hon Umar Ghadaffi
Lokoja, said the call became necessary in view of Engr James Akale’s
outstanding leadership qualities, professional achievements and selfless
services to humanity and the need for quality representation of the Dekina /
Bassa people, which Akale can give based on his level of exposure.
“In view of his outstanding
professional performance and service to humanity, we wish to compel him to
without further delay declare interest to contest for the House of
Representative, Bassa Dekina Federal Constituency in the 2019 elections” Umar
stated.
Hon Umar said Bassa has
only produced a House of Representative member for Dekina/Bassa once in 1999;
subsequent representatives have been from Dekina axis of the Constituency. This
could be attributed to the Igala Majority factor. He reiterated the peaceful
co-existence between the Bassa and Dekina people. He then said for equity,
fairness and justice to prevail, it is imperative that a Bassa candidate be
supported by all and sundry to represent the constituency this time around,
He then urged His
Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to support Engr James Akale for Bassa / Dekina
Federal Federal constituency for 2019.
Engr. James Akale is a
qualified and seasoned Civil engineer, whose professional career span over 18
years, with landmark success. He is the Chief Executive Officer of AK and Juel
Engineering Service Nigeria Limited. A member of the Nigeria Society of
Engineer and the Technical Secretary of the Kogi State branch, James Akale is a
grassroots mobilizer, He is the traditional title holder of Nda Kpi Ke Koji,
Bassa Kingdom. James Akale is an alumnus of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria,
he has a Masters in Project Management from Federal University of Technology,
Owerri. He is a philanthropist, married with children.
