On Thursday the story is taken one step further by Portuguese paper Record. 

Record splashed Ronaldo on their front cover.

In an explosive revelation, Record claim Cristiano Ronaldo has reached the “irreversible” decision that he’s leaving Real Madrid. 

Moreover, readers are told that the Cristiano Ronaldo “auction can start”.

Manchester United on alert

Record steer clear of linking Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United.

However, on Wednesday, El Confidencial told their readers the following:

In the midst of this bittersweet pain, the Portuguese agent (Jorge Mendes) has received a comforting call from Manchester United.
