

After arresting the suspect and others the Commandant of NSCDC in the state, Muhammed Gidado Fari, said the suspect, Obey Samuel, was arrested for beating his biological mother “without any provocation.”
The thirty-two-year-old man has been
arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Nasarawa
State for allegedly beating his mother to a state of coma.
In a brief chat with
journalists, Samuel however denied the allegation. He said, “I did not beat her
but I know that when I came back from a night club at that time I was drunk I
just locked her up in her room.”
The NSCDC boss also paraded
three persons who allegedly took advantage of the recent clashes between
farmers and herders in the state to loot households left deserted in Keana LGA.
“We have arrested three
persons looting aluminium pots and other household items of the displaced
persons who deserted their houses during the recent farmers-herders clashes in
the state,” Fari said.
He added that the command
is still investigating the suspects on whether they are connected to the recent
arson on the deserted houses. “At the moment there is no evidence of their
involvement in the burning of the houses but the matter is still under
investigation,” he said.
Fari said the command also
arrested a man who allegedly duped a micro-finance bank of the sum of N85,000
and another suspect who swindled other person of over N800,000.
He said all the suspects
would be charged to court for prosecution.
