The Nigerian Army in its continuous fight against terrorism infiltrated a Boko Haram camp in in Kaltunbare in Borno state.
According to the army, three terrorists were killed while others escaped with gun wounds. 
Two minors were reportedly rescued in the operation.
The chief of army staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai commended the troops for their gallant operation and urged them to intensify in their efforts.

"During the encounter 3 BHTs were neutralized while others escaped with gunshot wounds. 2 minors were also rescued. The COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai has commended the gallant troops and urged them to continue carrying out raids, deliberate patrols and attacks to decimate the remnants of BHTs in the North East."

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Senate has asked the federal government to investigate the disappearance of a retired army general who was recently declared missing.
Major General Idris Alkali (retd) who was the immediate past chief of administration, Army headquarters, Abuja, was declared missing on September 3. He was said to have gone missing on his way to Bauchi after leaving Abuja.

Consequently, following his disappearance, the senate on Wednesday, October 10, urge the federal government to "set up an investigate panel of enquiries to examine and determine the remote and immediate circumstances surrounding the dumping of cars in the ponds in DU District.
