Nigerian Boxer Crushed To Death By Train

A Nigerian boxer, Okosun Godwin was crushed to death by a train as he was on his way for training. 

Godwin who is also reported to have been in the Nigerian Army, represented Nigeria at the men’s middleweight division at the 2017 Africa Boxing Championship in Brazzaville, Congo.

He was on his way to Myoung Barracks in Yaba to train for his upcoming fight scheduled for next week and was on a motorcycle when he was involved in the train accident on Wednesday morning.

The Nigerian boxing community have expressed deep sorrow over the loss.

In 2006, Okosun Godwin became the Army middleweight champion at the Army Games which held in Abuja.

He had also won silver medal at the National Boxing Open Championships which was held last year at the Brai Ayomnote gym, National stadium, in Lagos.
