Famodun expressed satisfaction with the victory, adding that the election process was bereft of violence and manipulation as purportedly spread by mischievous bystanders.

Following the remarks of the political observers on the recently conducted gubernatorial election in Osun state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has made a rejoinder, alleging that the observers' comment was a spurious lie flying in the face of fact.
The Punch reports that the APC chairman in Osun state, Gboyega Famodun, made this statement while affirming Oyetola's victory during a press conference in Osogbo on Tuesday, October 2.

Falodun, who was clearing the dust left by the poll, also said that the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), brought thugs from Kwara state to assault APC party members.

He also alleged that fake observers were brought to witness the process, and upon being caught, they were dismissed from having anything to do with the election.

He also chided foreign observers for peddling falsehood and for being doublespeak.

He said: "We are not impressed by the volte face of some foreign and local election observers who in one breath acknowledged the peaceful and fair nature of the process, but in another, questioned the outcome just at the tail end at the collation centre, where the die is already cast, and nothing can be changed or influenced again.

"As far as fairness goes, you cannot recommend a process and at the same time deny its conclusion.

“Some observer groups that weren’t physically present even went ahead to depend on the PDP falsehood to adjudge the election flawed.

"That is not the stuff of which truth is made. They have, by speaking from both sides of the mouth, discredited their own reports.

“Although the PDP did so many illegal and reprehensible things, we still emerged victorious. From all the facts available to us and those made public by the security agencies, we have reasonable and justifiable proof that INEC did its best to conduct a free, fair and peaceful election.

“To doubt the credibility of that election, therefore, would be to work against the grains of facts, truths and evidence to the contrary.

"Our victory is incontestable; INEC’s credibility is not in doubt and the people of Osun – the majority that is – also know that the APC earned its victory.”

The election observation teams from the United States (US), the European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK), on Thursday, September 27, gave their initial observation on the conduct of the rerun governorship election in Osun state.

Speaking in Osogbo in an interview by the TVC television station, a member of the observer team, who spoke on behalf of the others, said there were reports of irregularities, harassment and interference by inappropriate persons in the elections.
