While a number of people were celebrating the Independence Day of Nigeria, Yul Edochie was of the opinion that there was nothing to be happy about, that Nigeria is a mess.
The actor turned politician made his frustrations known via his Twitter page on October 1, 2018, which we all know, is Independence Day.
"Can't wish anybody a Happy Independence day, there's nothing to be happy about. Nigeria is in a mess. The masses, the youths are unhappy. Poverty, hunger, joblessness, killings still prevail. Government listen to the cry of the people. Power is nothing if ur people are unhappy," he tweeted.
He went to advise the government and people to try something different as the way things are done at the moment isn't working.

"Never heard of a nation being great simply because citizens "proclaimed its greatness" or "spoke greatness into it". We've been doing this for 35 years, here we are. Isn't it time we tried something else?" he concluded.

This is not the first time Yul Edochie will be berating the nation as we can all recall some months ago when he said dreams die in Nigeria.
Yul Edochie has come for the Nigerian government because he feels dreams and aspirations die in the country as a result of the decay in the system. The actor turned politician made his disappointments known via his Twitter page on Sunday, August 26, 2018. He gave a brief story of his friend who worked in Nigeria for years as a doctor without making money but became rich after his short move abroad.

"My friend hustled as a practicing medical doctor for over 10yrs in Nigeria with nothing much to show for it. He left Nigeria last yr to practice abroad, came back one yr after, got married, boughts lands, building his house and happy. Dreams die here. We can't continue like this," he tweeted.
Yul Edochie who ventured into politics about a year ago was recently made the Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Anambra state on Creative and Entertainment Media.
