Man parks car on Third Mainland Bridge, jumps into lagoon

Another suicide attempt was witnessed today at Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, as it was gathered that a yet to be identified man, reportedly parked his car on the bridge and jumped into the lagoon.
The yet to be identified man, reportedly told occupants of the car he was driving that he wanted to ease himself but went on to jump into the lagoon beneath Third Mainland Bridge to everyone’s surprise.

Eyewitnesses further alleged that the Marine Police, Lagos state government rescue boats and local divers who were mobilized after the incident which caused a traffic gridlock in the area, recovered the body of the ‘lagoon jumper’ after RRS riders got to the scene almost immediately and radioed for assistance.
Here are photos from the scene of the incident below;
Recall that few months ago, we reported that a lady reportedly jumped into the lagoon beneath the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, in what many considered to be a suicide attempt. Twitter user @hotpikin who shared the video wrote;

The owner of this Ford SUV just parked the vehicle and jumped into the water from Third mainland bridge. This was some minutes ago

She updated her tweet, stating that the owner of the car tried dissuading the lady from jumping into the lagoon;

Please RT the original tweet to find his family/friends. I doubt they know what is going on. Correction: It was actually a woman.

Can’t imagine what she would have been going through. She probably got to a point where she believed her situation was hopeless.
Update: The owner of the SUV was apparently a good Samaritan who tried to dissuade the lady from jumping into the water.
