In the bid to woo Nigerians’s interest in his re-election, President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that the country will not regret it if he is given the chance to serve one more time.
The president gave this assurance on Wednesday, February 13, when he speaking the presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the national stadium in Abuja, Daily Trust reports.
Buhari said his government has never failed in delivering on the major campaign promises he made to Nigerians on fight against corruption, insecurity and economic mess.
The president the residents of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and those in the northeast could see the result and testify above the good works that had been done on security as security agencies are presently handling the farmers-herdsmen crisis in Benue state and the issue of lawlessness in Zamfara state.
President Buhari also mentioned how the availability of affordable fertilizers has greatly reduced the importation of rice by 90%.
He said the money made through the restructuring of the agriculture sector has been diverted to providing important social amenities like electricity, roads and rail lines
The president added that when he is re-elected, he would investigate the $16 billion spent by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which never had any effect on the electricity situation of the country, even as he begged to countries in European to help repatriate Nigerian looted funds.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to approve a “psychiatric evaluation” for the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Wike while addressing non-indigenes of Rivers state at a campaign rally said Amaechi needs to be checked for suggesting that he (Wike) negotiated with the President to allow him to emerge as second-term governor in exchange for the president’s victory.
