A 5-point demand was presented to the Buhari-led federal government by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the just concluded presidential election.
The former vice president presented his demands to the president during a meeting with a delegation led by the former head of state and chairman of the National Peace Committee (NPC), General Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd).
Prince Tony Momoh, a chieftain in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former minister of information, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the just concluded general election was more celebrated when compared to his 2015 election win.

In an interview with the Independent, Momoh also said whoever believes the victory of the president’s re-election bid was not as praised as his first emergence must have a problem with their memory.

When told that some people believed the president's re-election was as celebrated as his election was in 2015, the former minister said he has never witnessed the kind of celebration Buhari’s re-election received in the history election in the country, and that only liars would say that he was not celebrated.

He said: “Whoever said that must have a problem with his memory because the euphoria now is massive compared to how it was in 2015. I have never seen so much celebration in the history of Nigeria elections and I have witnessed a lot of them.

Everywhere in Nigeria right now, people are celebrating. How can anybody say the euphoria now is low when compared to how it was in 2015? In any case, we have a state by state scenario when you have events being acted out. We have never had so much spread by opposition in the history of Nigeria. Buhari won in all the traditional areas…

So, why won’t there be much celebrations? Those saying Nigerians are not celebrating his victory like they did in 2015 are not saying the truth.”

The APC chieftain also said a lot of people do not want Buhari’s re-election because of his strategy and the way he strictly deals with corruption.

He praised Buhari, saying the president refuses to accept his full salary on the basis that he is being provided for by Aso Rock.

When asked to comment on the postponement of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), he said the truth is that the commission was not ready that was the reason for the election shift.
