A Nigerian lady took a bold step while seeking for admission in Canada, as she made the foreign university stop its IELTS requirements for Nigerians.
Taking to social media, Software & Data Engineer, Tosin Olugbenga narrated how a lady made the Canadian university drop the requirement for Nigerian applicants.
According to him, the lady was asked to write the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), before she could gain admission into the university.

She refused, stating that Nigeria is an English speaking country, and there is no need for such test. This made the university offer her an admission, and also drop such requirement for other applicants from the country.
See what Tosin Olugbenga write below;

One of my software development trainees applied for a Masters Degree course from a University in Canada.

The University requested she writes IELTS to know her English language competency.
She replied that she would not write the IELTS exams.

In her response she wrote that English language has been her language of instruction since her elementary education till tertiary education and if she would not be considered for admission because of that she’s okay by it.

The University gave her the admission and did same for other Nigerians who also applied to the University.

It took just one person to reject that nonsense.
How can Nigeria whose official language is English Language be requested to write IELTS.

Because they know we lack leadership
Most western countries have turned Nigeria and in extension other African countries to their cash cow.

Some UK universities have a different and higher tuition fee for Nigerian students compared to their counterparts from Asian countries.

That’s our reality.
