A Court of Appeal sitting
in Abuja has nullified the ruling on the Osun State Governorship Election
Tribunal which favoured Senator Ademola Adeleke.

which took place in Abuja nullifued the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola at
the elections and declared Senator Ademola Adeleke as the winner.

Oyetola head for the Court of Appeal which today nullified the ruling by the
tribunal.
The judgment which was
delivered by Justice Hannatu Sankey set aside the entire proceedings of the
Tribunal because of its “faulty composition”. The judgment was upheld by four
justices of the five-man panel.
This is all coming few days
after Senator Adeleke was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force and taken
into custody on the evening of Monday, May 6, 2019.
Police spokesman, Frank Mba
said:
“Senator Adeleke is
currently in police custody. He was taken into custody in the evening of today
6th May 2019 in connection with ongoing criminal investigations touching on his
person.
Meanwhile, in the best
tradition of natural justice and fair hearing, he has already been served with
the relevant charge sheet containing his alleged offences in the presence of
his Attorneys. He will be arraigned in a competent court of law tomorrow, 7th
May 2019.”
The senator was later
released on bail after he appeared a court.
