Nigeria becomes the first team to qualify for the round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations championship following their 1-0 win over Guinea. Kenneth Omeruo's header in the 73rd minute from a Simon Moses corner ensure the Super Eagles progress to the next
round with one match to spare. They kicked off their campaign with the same scoreline over Burundi at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday, June 22.

The three time African champions were however super excited as they celebrated their triumph with local songs and some dance moves.

Samuel Kalu, who was introduced into the game in the last minute led the celebration with John Ogu, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Francis Uzoho also at the forefront of it all. In the midst of the celebration, captain of the game Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi and Shehu Abdullahi also joined up.

Gernot Rohr's men got their campaign off to a winning start after beating Burundi 1-0, and then progressed through to the next stage after beating Guinea 1-0 in their second game. Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigeria vs Guinea ended in a 1-0 win for the Super Eagles as they become to first team to qualify for the round of 16. Kenneth Omeruo scored in the 73rd minute as he headed home a cross from Moses Simon to give Nigeria maximum points in Group B.
