Woman Caught On Camera Trying To Burn Neighbour’s Home

A woman has been arrested after being caught on her own security camera firing shots and firebombing her neighbour's home following a feud. 

Firefighters were called to a property in Del City, Oklahoma, after neighbours reported huge flames coming from a garage on June 10.

The fire was put out but investigators then learned that there was a row between the burnt home's owner and Annie Durham, 59, after they requested CCTV footage from Durham's home.

The clip captures Durham firing two shots into her neighbour's open side door before she tosses a lit towel inside the home, setting the house ablaze.

Chief Brandon Pursell, of the Del City Fire Department, told News4: "She caught herself on camera setting the fire.

"It's not a Molotov cocktail, but it's a stick with a rag or towel wrapped around it. It had some lighter fluid poured on it."

When questioned by the police, Durham said: "All I know is I was in the house, and I saw smoke but I was like, 'okay, maybe everything is okay. They will put it out or whatever."

Neighbours told the news station that the burnt house had been home to drug addicts and vagrants and that the police and fire crews had been to the house multiple times over the years.

Chief Pursell said they knew about the house.

The fire department said in a statement: "After an initial knock-down was accomplished from the outside, crews worked to advance into the structure to search for any possible victim and extinguish remaining fire.

"During the search, crews found a full basement with 8ft of water from a previous water pipe rupture. This posed a serious safety risk to the firefighters to the basement full of water. 

Durham has been charged with second-degree arson and has been booked into the Oklahoma County jail.
