Fatima, an eight-year old
girl, braves all odds to reach her school every day as she treks a long
distance of 2 kilometers from her village in Unguwar Tofa in Zamfara state to
Tsafe. According to a post made by Hausawa on Facebook on Thursday, July 30,
the little girl does not fail to go to school unless she is sick.
One Abdullahi Mohammad
commented on the post and said, with a picture supporting it, that Hajiya Aisha
Bello Matawalle, the first lady in the state, donated a motocycle to the girl
on Thursday, August 1.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier
reported about the pathetic story of Kokodiagbene primary school in Delta state
where a dirty well serves as their only source of water. A boy who was recently
spotted at the well said that the well serves as not just their only source of
water, but that they rely on it to bathe too. This is despite the fact that the
Niger Delta is blessed with crude oil, which is the life wire of the country's
economy. It should, however, be noted that over the years, the federal
government has tried to step into the situation by creating the Ministry of the
Niger Delta Affairs.
