Andred Beita was kidnapped on Saturday, in Ibeshe, Ogun state, along with his Nigerian chauffeur, Ifeanyi while leaving a farm in the area. Swiss authorities have confirmed the kidnap of their citizen Andred Beita.
The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) made the confirmation on Monday.
“The FDFA and the Swiss embassy in Abuja are in contact with the local authorities,” they said.
“The FDFA is coordinating activities with the various departments of the federal administration relevant to this type of case.
“For reasons of personal and data protection, the FDFA cannot provide further information.”
Spokesman for the Police in the state Abimbola Oyeyemi said the kidnapping happened on Ibese-Itori Road on Saturday.
He said the victims were captured as they came out from a farm in the area.
“They were intercepted… Two of the bandits were killed, but they succeeded in abducting two – a Swiss national and another person,” he told Channels TV.
“The police are on the trail of these people,” he added.
