UK Shooter Shot Own Mother Before Going On Rampage

According to report, the gunman shot dead his own mother, Maxine Davison, 51, before going on a rampage in the quiet residential area of Keyham yesterday evening.

Davison’s Facebook page was full of references to right-wing nationalist US politics and expressed his admiration for former President Donald Trump.

Davison described himself as an ‘incel’, meaning ‘involuntary celibate’ – a member of an online subculture of people who complain of not being able to have a sex life.

All victims of the Plymouth massacre have now been named by police as questions remain over why the killer was legally able to own a gun.

Three-year-old Sophie Martyn, her father Lee Martyn, 43 were murdered in front of horrified onlookers yesterday afternoon.

Jake Davison, 22, then went on to kill Stephen Washington, 59, and Kate Shepherd, aged 66, who died later in hospital.

The killer, who witnesses say used a ‘pump action shotgun’ then turned his weapon on himself.

Some express this through self-pity, but others express an unfulfilled entitlement to sex and advocate violence against women.

Davison had a YouTube channel on which he ranted about being rejected by women and complained about being a ‘f***ing fat ugly virgin’.

He described feeling ‘defeated in life’ and said ‘I think I am a Terminator’ in a chilling final video blog.

In one video where he speaks directly into the camera, he says ‘most women are very simple minded and ain’t all that bright’.

Ranting about women not having sex with ‘average’ men, he says: ‘Why do you think sexual assaults and all these things keep rising and women talk about it? Because the reality is, is that women don’t need men no more.’

In another video, he references ‘Chads’, a slang term for sexually active men used among incels.

A police spokesman said the firearm believed to have been used during the atrocity was legally held by Davison, who had a firearms licence.

He confirmed that a mandatory referral had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) by the force.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the massacre an ‘absolutely appalling’ incident and said the issue of how Davison came to legally own a gun should be ‘properly investigated’.

In April this year Davison had started on a two-year crane operator apprenticeship at defence and engineering giant Babcock International – a firm which runs the dockyards at Devonport. He was subscribed to several gun-related channels on Youtube including one providing ‘training videos’ for firearms owners.

Davison’s Youtube cover image featured a still from a video game showing a character wielding an automatic weapon.
