Man Who Grow Cannabis To Pay Of Drug Debt Spared Jail Term

Police found twenty-five cannabis plants, complete with lighting and ventilation in the loft, the man who agreed to let his loft be used to grow cannabis in order to pay off a drug debt has been spared jail.

Bradley Holden, aged 25, of Crossmoor Drive, Bolton, was caught when police raided the home where he lives with his partner and children on October 26, 2020.

Bolton Crown Court heard how the they would have yielded 1.38kg of the drug, worth £13,800 on the street.

Holden pleaded guilty to producing cannabis on the basis that he allowed someone else to set up the cannabis farm and he agreed to water them in order to pay off a drug debt.

Recorder Jeremy Lasker sentenced Holden to eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months and ordered him to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
