Star
couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian caused a flap at a New York airport after
an overly-eager airline employee waved them through security.
The pair
were pulled aside to be privately screened after initially being allowed to
bypass the checkpoint altogether at JFK.
They had
arrived at the airport on a flight from Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday to pick up a
connecting flight to Los Angeles.
After
clearing customs and baggage, they were escorted by the employee "through
a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic
flight".

Transportation
Security Administration officials said this broke strict security regulations
because it bypassed the TSA checkpoint.
"The
airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travellers to
bypass the TSA security checkpoint," a statement said.
"TSA
officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two
passengers in the area of the jet-way."
The
rapper and reality TV star were eventually cleared to board their flight, which
departed after about a 50-minute delay.
Representatives
for the couple, who announced in December they are expecting a baby, did not
immediately respond to requests for comment.
