The pair have reached the milestone thanks to Beyonce's recent money-spinning projects. Her Mrs Carter tour, due to hit the UK, is tipped to bring in £89million, and promotional deals with Pepsi and retail brand H&M are also thought to be worth a healthy seven-figure sum.
Rap King
Jay-Z more than matches his wife's financial might. In 2007, he sold his Rocawear
clothing line for a cool £156million and signed a £115million deal with Live Nation the following year. The savvy
businessman also holds stakes in the New Jersey Nets basketball team.
"Jay's been looking for a private island for the family," a friend told The Sun. "He's getting it partly to mark their fifth wedding anniversary but also, with Bey back in the spotlight, it's getting impossible for them to do normal things such as go to the beach with Blue.
"A private island means they’ll be able to have quality time with minimum staff and security."
It's all
good news for the couple's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who is one. In a recent
campaign for women's empowerment, Beyonce revealed she tells her daughter every
day that she can grow up to be the leader of the US.
Speaking in a video for the Chime for Change campaign, Beyonce says, "I'm telling my daughter every day, you know you can be president, you know it's possible. I know she has no idea why I'm saying that, but at one-year-old, I'm like, you know you can be president."
The
singer kicked off her highly-anticipated Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in Serbia
last week. The bombastic concert hits UK shores on 29 April, when Beyonce will
take over the O2 arena for a six-night stint.
