Catholic Church In Aba Robbed



A Catholic church in Aba, Abia State, was robbed by gunmen who stole the car of the parish priest and other valuables at gun point on Monday, June 9.
According to the police statement, at about 12:45 a.m. the armed robbers invaded the Tansi Catholic Church located at the World Bank Housing Estate (WBHE), Abayi, Aba.

It was gathered that when the robbers entered the church they went straight for the parsonage, where they snatched a black Honda Accord car with registration no. LND 47 AC belonging to the parish priest, Revd. Fr. Emeka Okoro.

Reportedly, the robbers took two laptops, one iPad, handsets, documents, cash and other valuable things and drove away on priest's car unchallenged.

Abia Police Command Public Rrelations Officer (PPRO), Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached for comments, but a senior police officer, who confirmed the incident, said police had mounted a manhunt for the fleeing robbers.
