Gigi is an American fashion model and TV personality. She was
named one of 12 rookies in Sports illustrated annual issue in 2014. She has
also made several appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The 19-year-old revealed the news in a video shared on her
Instagram account.The short clip sees Gigi answering a quick-fire round of questions, before being asked, "Tell us something nobody knows about you."
"I'm the new face of
Maybelline New York," she replies, beaming at the camera.
The full campaign will be
released in October later this year, but Gigi gave fans a sneak peek of the
images, as well as a behind-the-scenes peek at her photos on the computer.
"I'm so beyond honoured
and excited (at a loss for words, really) to be the new face of
@Maybelline!" she captioned the image.
"Thank you so much to
my team at @imgmodels @luizmattos1906 for believing in me and helping make this
happen, and to the whole #MaybellineNewYork team for being so welcoming; it's
such a dream come true to be a part of this family."
Gigi has already bagged
highly coveted modelling jobs from walking the Chanel runway to featuring in
Pirelli's world-famous calendar, however she revealed that Maybelline was a
particularly special brand for her.
"In middle school, I
wasn't allowed to wear make-up," she explained to Vogue. "I secretly
bought Maybelline's SuperStay 24HR concealer at CVS. I thought it as the
coolest thing in the world."
When it comes to beauty,
Gigi, who has been modelling since she was ten years old, admitted that she
loves to experiment with cosmetics.
