Police In Muftis Stop n Search Is This Right?

A well-meaning Nigerian twitter user shared these pictures of policemen in muftis stopping motorist, busses and passer-by as they searched them.
The alleged policemen searched them indiscriminately.

Those who rode their bikes were stopped, pockets searched, phones etc
They are said to be officers from Soloki police station in Surulere, Lagos.

Is this act of searching right?

    In western countries is not bad but in naija can be dangerous.
