London passengers will be
able to travel through the night on Fridays and Saturdays on the Victoria and
Jubilee Lines from August, the sources said.
The night Tube service will
then start on Central, Northern and Piccadilly lines in September, it is
believed.
London Underground's
all-night service is reportedly scheduled to start running in August.
Transport for London (TfL)
is yet to give dates for the launch, but plans have been drawn up to roll it
out line by line, sources have told the Press Association.
A TfL spokesman said:
"No date has yet been agreed for the launch of the night Tube, but we are
working hard to deliver it for London as quickly as possible."
It comes after a pay deal
was accepted by members of the two biggest Underground unions - ASLEF and the
Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union.
The RMT is balloting
engineers for strikes over the planned new service after other members of the
union voted in favour of the pay deal.
The deal came after months
of wrangling between unions and Tube bosses, which forced a delay to the
introduction of night-time trains.
Unite and the Transport
Salaried Staffs Association are yet to agree to the pay deal, but the sources
say TfL is pressing ahead with starting the night Tube in August.
