Odigie-Oyegun had on
February 26th 2016 proceeded on a ten-day leave apparently on the
advice of his doctors who had treated him for malaria and fatigue. The leave
which ran through 10 working days saw his deputy, Segun Oni acting in his
stead.
The National Chairman of
the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has returned to
work yesterday after a 10-day leave, promising to put the appointment of a new
party spokesman at the top of his agenda.
The chairman’s decision to
go on leave immediately stoked controversy with insinuations that it was a way
of quietly giving him a soft landing as he was eased out of prized job.
Odigie-Oyegun, 76, however, did not show any sign of illness when he addressed
journalists at the party secretariat yesterday as he affirmed that all
scheduled activities of the party would continue as planned.

Welcome back sir
