This

daily! An accident
occurred on the Bauchi-Jos Road at about 10:46 pm at Buzaye village eighteen
people were burnt to death in a collision between a DAF articulated truck and a
Toyota Hiace bus.
The incident happened on
Sunday night according to police spokesman Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the
crash.
He said: “The accident
occurred when a truck heading for Jos from Bauchi collided head-on with
passenger bus from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
“The bus caught fire and
the passengers were burnt beyond recognition.
“The truck is registered as
XC-675-BAU and the bus BAU-148-XR. It carried 18 passengers.
“The bodies have been
deposited at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital mortuary.”
Mohammed said two victims
were identified as the bus driver, Alhaji Adamu Maijama’a, 45, who lived at
Jahum in Bauchi, and Yahaya Umar, 41, who also lived in Bauchi.
He said: “A police patrol
team attached to the GRA Division and officials of the fire service from
Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) put out the fire.”
