Now the Portuguese manager
wants to get rid of him and is willing to offer the Frenchman as bait to sign
Chelsea's Willian.
Willian has been a
long-term target of Mourinho and he is increasingly confident of securing his
signature with Willian who is reportedly unhappy with life at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old angered new
manager Maurizio Sarri after delaying his return to the club after being given
an extended holiday following Brazil’s World Cup campaign in Russia.
Willian claimed that his
passport had expired and he had to renew it be returning to London.
Sarri said of the incident:
"I want to speak to him. I am not happy about this situation but before I
answer, I would like to speak to him.”
Both Willian and Martial
are valued at around £75million but the United attacker's value could increase
in the future as he is seven years younger than the Blues' winger.
Martial has been linked with
a move to Bayern Munich but Mourinho wants Robert Lewandowski as part of the
deal, as revealed exclusively by SunSport.
Manchester City's all-time
leading scorer Sergio Aguero netted his 200th and 201st goal for the Premier
League champions in their 2-0 win against Chelsea in the Community Shield
contest.
The encounter decided at
Wembley saw Aguero open the scoring after 13 minutes with a fine low finish
into the bottom-right corner from 18 yards, after an assist from Phil Foden who
created the opportunity behind Chelsea defence line.
