Maryam Sanda Who Killed Husband Gives Birth To Baby Boy

Sahara Reporters gathered that a low-key naming ceremony will hold on Tuesday August 14, 2018, meaning the baby was born last Tuesday, August 7, 2018.

Maryam Sanda who has been in court for killing her husband, Bilyamin Bello, in 2017, reportedly welcomed a baby boy.
Maryam Sanda who was accused of premeditated murder, had criminal charges of culpable homicide filed against her by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.

Maryam — daughter of Maimuna Aliyu, the former Executive Director of Aso Savings and Loans Limited, whose nomination to the board of ICPC was withdrawn by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo following corruption allegations — was arrested after allegedly stabbing her husband to death in the neck, chest and genital area on November 18, 2017 over alleged infidelity.

According to reports, it was not the first time Maryam would attack Bello violently. She once bit part of his ear off during an argument. Bello was treated at a hospital before returning home. Some report said he was advised to leave the house but he refused, only to be brutally attacked the second time. After stabbing him, she drove him to the hospital for treatment but he did not survive the attack.

The lady who was a nursing mother of a six-month-old baby girl at the time, initially tried to secure bail for her, but Yusuf Halilu, judge of a High Court in Jabi, Abuja, would have none of it. She was remanded at Suleja Prisons, although her brother and her mother, who were accused of tampering with evidence, were released on bail.

She was finally granted bail in March 2018, after the court received medical reports confirming her pregnancy and illness. Her late husband, Bello was the son of Bello Haliru, a former acting chairman of the PDP board of trustees from 2015-2016, minister of defence from 2011-2012, and minister of communications from 2001-2003.
