Robbery Gang That Lures Ladies n Abuse On Facebook Caught

The Nigeria police has smashed an abuse and robbery gang which specialises in luring unsuspecting females through Facebook.
Ayo Salau and his partner Samuel Gbenga were arrested after they allegedly robbed and gang-raped a lady who was supposed to be on a dinner date with the latter, around Moroko area of the state.

Vanguard reports that Lagos state police command said the abused lady met Samuel on Facebook last month.
It was gathered that the suspect invited the lady to a diner date in Makoko area of Lagos after series of interaction on the social media platform.
However, issues began after he picked the lady in a Toyota Camry Saloon car with number plates JJJ 406 DL driven by Salau.

The lady recounting her ordeal said that midway into the drive, Salau pulled the car over and ordered her to take off her clothes.

She said the duo threatened to kill her and dispose her body in the deserted path if she put up any resistance.

The spokesperson for the Lagos police command, Chike Oti, a chief superintendent of police said: “Thereafter, she said that they took turns to rape and dispossessed her of cash and other valuables and abandoned her at the path."

“The moment the hoodlums left, the victim raised the alarm and gave description of their car Police operatives attached to Maroko division who were alerted, immediately laid ambush for the fleeing criminals.

“As soon as the operatives stopped their vehicle, the criminals took to their heels. They chased them and arrested Ayo Salau while his partner in crime, Richard Samuel Gbenga escaped," Oti continued.

He said the suspect had since been identified by the victim and he confessed to have committed the crime which said was introduced to him by his fleeing partner.

Oti also said: “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi, hereby cautions youths especially young women to beware of people who may use the social media to take advantage of them. He assures that the long arm of the law will surely catch up with the fleeing suspect.”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the Lagos police team on Friday, March 30, said they had arrested two suspected cultists, simply identified as Kanmi, (also known as Father) and Alami Samuel.

Oti in a statement, confirmed the arrest to newsmen, stressing that they were nabbed on Thursday, March 29, while trying to attack a rival gang member at Illasamaja area of Lagos. 
He said the first suspect was arrested based on credible intelligence report as he had been on a wanted list for long over many violent crimes, including cultism.
