Abia Police Speak On Arrests Of Chinese With Human Heads

Chris Ezike, Abia state commissioner of police, on Thursday, December 6, declared that the force did not arrest any Chinese workers with human heads in Umuahia.

The Punch reports that Ezike made this known in a statement issued in the state while reacting to an unconfirmed report purporting that the incident occurred.

He added that the state police command had confirmed that no such incident happened in recent times.

According to him, “The publication and its linkage to Umuahia, the Abia state capital, is totally false and resides only in the figment of the imagination of the publishers.

“A close look at the composite pictures that accompanied the publication revealed a deliberate technological manipulation intended to deceive and cause panic in the state, especially during this Christmas and New Year period.

“The command wishes to reassure members of the public of our commitment, capacity and capability to protect them at all times irrespective of the handiwork of fake news peddlers.”

Ezike advised members of the public and Abia residents to ignore the publication and go about their lawful businesses.

He urged those adversely affected by the publication to ignore it and remain calm, adding that a panel had been set up to investigate the online report.

According to him, “All the persons affected by the unfortunate development are advised to be calm and to report to the panel set to further investigate the publication at the Central Police Station, Aba, for further necessary action.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Abia state police command declared war on kidnappers and cultists as a means of ensuring the state is crime free during the festive season.

The state commissioner of police, Chris Ezike, told journalists that the command had set up anti- kidnapping squad in all police divisions in the state for the purpose of checking the spread of cultism.

He complained that cultism had infiltrated several parts of the state including secondary schools, markets and streets. Ezike said that an anti-cultism outfit that will combine carrot and stick will soon take off before Christmas.
