Governor Atiku Bagudu of
Kebbi state has expressed certainty over President Muhammadu Buhari's victory
in the 2019 presidential election.
The Vanguard reports that
the Kebbi governor, after a closed-door meeting with the chief of staff to the
president, Abba Kyari, at the presidential villa on Tuesday, December 4,
laughed off the chance of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s presidential
candidate, Atiku Abubakar, winning the coming poll.
Legit.ng gathers that
Bagudu, when asked if Atiku's achievements and campaign promises are worthy
falling in for, said President Buhari's achievements and second terms promises
are far beyond comparison.
Addressing the state house
correspondents, the governor also noted that the campaign rally held by PDP in
Sokoto state was not an indication of Atiku's acceptability.
He added that the teeming
crowd available in the rally did not intimidate the president.
He said:"I don’t know
what you mean when you said you saw crowd there because many people have
different interpretations.
"And like I said,
President Buhari is running on his own record. Within the last ten days, the
next level agenda was disclosed showing what has been achieved and what the
second term will usher and that I believe has resonated with Nigerians and
there is no comparison.”
Bagudu also highlighted the
achievements of the president, adding that Kebbi state is satisfied with his
policies so far.
He said: "We believe
that President Muhammadu Buhari is running on his record and Kebbi state is one
of those states that is very proud of the policies that had been put in place.
"It has helped the
state to achieve gross in output, gross in income, better security and more
transparency in the management of our revenue.
“So all the three elements
that President Muhammadu Buhari promised in his campaign, we have seen the
benefits in Kebbi state. So as a result, we are a welfare and transparent
state.
“The generality of the
people of Kebbi state are united under one party and we are determined to lead
all other states to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President
Yemi Osinbajo are re-elected."
At a colloquium organised
in Osogbo tagged "Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Eye of History,” Governor
Atiku Bagude of Kebbi state showered a flurry of encomium on former governor
Aregbesola for taking risk in building a new Osun state.
Bagudu, commenting on
Aregebesola's achievements, said the education policy of the immediate Osun
state governor remained the best in the country.
