Former President Obasanjo Reacts To George H W Bush's Death

A condolence note was sent to the United States over the death of former US president George H W Bush, father to also U S Ex-president George Bush junior.   Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo has written to President Donald Trump to express his grief and eulogy, The Punch reports.
Obasanjo, in a letter by his aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, expressed shock over the death of the former US president.

Legit.ng gathers that he described the death of Bush as a colossal loss for the people of US, adding that Bush's legacies will continue to shape the economic and political view of the world.

Obasanjo wrote: “Bush’s death is a loss not only to his immediate family and to the United States but also to the entire world.
“With the refocused and renewed emphasis on market reforms, political and social accountability, and stronger trade relations, his legacies have continued over the years to shape Africa’s relations with the United States.”

Obasanjo, in his condolence, noted Bush's impacts in Africa, especially his relationship with Nigeria when he was the president.
The ex-Nigerian leader also eulogised Bush, describing the late erstwhile American president as a great leader and erudite international statesman.

He said: "Bush’s special interest in Nigeria was reflective of the special relations between our two countries.
“We join you and the American people in mourning the loss of a political giant, an astute administrator, a courageous leader, an erudite international statesman, and a great American hero.

“Though the world would miss him, his legacies would continue to inspire many to reach the highest points of their productive, political and creative abilities.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that former United States president George Herbert Walker Bush had passed away.

His spokesman, Jim McGrath, revealed that he died late Friday, November 30, at age 94 in Houston.
His death came after his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush, died on April 17, at age 92.
