"Why Buhari, APC government must continue" - Dolapo Osinbajo gives reasons

The wife of the vice president, Dolapo Osinbajo has said that the only avenue for Nigeria to develop further lies with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government, adding that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration must be re-elected.

Ms Osinbajo said this when she was hosted by the wife of the state governor, Florence Ajimobi, at a Town Hall meeting held at Kola Daisi Civic Centre in Ibadan, Oyo state capital on Friday, February 1, Vanguard reports.

The vice president’s wife urged women in Oyo state to work strongly for the re-election of President Buhari and Vice president Osinbajo in the forthcoming presidential election.

  

She urged women in the state to vote for Buhari-led administration, saying the administration prioritizes the future of the Nigerian youths which should be a major concern for women.

Ms Osinbajo said: “What we are doing today is because of our children and every work a parent does if for the future of his or her children.

“Every money earned is for the children. We have to monitor those that will take care of our children.

“What we are here to discuss is who will direct our children, which is why our vote is very important and what we saw today has explained the government of President Buhari as one that thinks and plans for the humanity.”

The vice president’s wife described President Buhari as not only a kind man but someone who served as a voice to the children that are voiceless.

She also talked about the administration’s achievements in the economy, the agriculture sector the social investment programmes.

“What President Buhari’s government is doing is also helping the traders across the country. The farmers have benefitted the gesture as well. These are the reasons I said Buhari’s time is beneficial. Apart from that, unemployed graduates are gainfully employed,” she said.

Ms Osinbajo also used the occasion to admonish parents, especially mothers on the need to caution their children not to be used as instruments of violence by politicians.

Her words: “It is time mothers that are here to admonish our children not to be used as instruments of violence by politicians.

“Politicians can fight with each other and at the same time become friends. If you take side and get yourself killed, you will have yourself to be blamed for the loss.”

In her own address, the wife of the state governor, Florence Abiola Ajimobi, commended the administrations of President Buhari and Governor Ajimobi for their achievements.

“The Buhari administration deserves our support and cooperation for another term, having done so well in their first term. Is it the 500,000 N-Power beneficiaries or school feeding.

“The Ajimobi-led administration apart from transforming the state into a modern one has empowered no fewer than 130,000 women in the state,” she said.  

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Vice president Yemi Osinbajo said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration will jail more corrupt Nigerians if re-elected.

Osinbajo said this on Sunday, January 27, during his house-to-house campaign in Ifako-Ijaiye local government area of Lagos state.

Speaking to people in Ifako-Ijaiye, Osinbajo said grand corruption, which plagued the 16 years administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) contributed to the lack of infrastructure for Nigerians.
