Cristiano Ronaldo has been
fined $22,600 by UEFA for his goal celebration gesture in Juventus Champions
League victory over Atletico Madrid.
Ronaldo who scored a
hat-trick in the game rushed to the stands and pointed at his cojones in
imitation of how Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone celebrated against them
in the first leg at Madrid.
The game saw Juventus
qualify for the UEFA Champions League round of eight and will be facing Ajax.
According to the control,
ethics and disciplinary body of the European football organisation which ruled
on Thursday, Ronaldo was guilty of improper conduct.
Diego Simeone was also
fined €20,000 for his own goal celebration gesture.
