National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has uncovered a cartel at the airport which
specializes in planting illicit drugs in the luggage of unsuspecting
travellers.
The cartel was uncovered
after detectives embarked on an investigation concerning a student held in
Saudi Arabia over drug-related charges.
The student Zainab Aliyu
was arrested at the airport in Saudi Arabia when Tramadol was found in her
luggage. She was immediately detained and was too face execution until
president Buhari intervened and secured her release.
The investigation carried
out by NDLEA led to the arrested of the airport cartel which consist of the
following suspects: Idris Umar Shehu (alias Umar Sanda), Sanni Suleiman, Nuhu
Adamu, Rhoda Adetunji, Udosen Itoro Henry and Sanni Hamisu.
