Governor Makinde Nominates 27-Year-Old OAU Graduate As Commissioner

Tribune reports that the governor sent the name of the OAU graduate alongside two other names, Alhaja Faosat Joke Sunni from Iseyin local government and Professor Raphael Afonja from Ogbomoso North local government, to the state House of Assembly for screening.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has nominated a 27-year-old graduate of Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Seun Fakorede, as one of the three commissioner nominees for screening. 

The 27-year old hails from Idere area of Ibarapa Central local government and bagged a Civil Engineering degree from OAU in 2016. He currently runs an entrepreneur and consultancy outfit, and a non-profit outfit, Home Advantage Africa (HAA). There are speculations that Fakorede will be deployed to the Ministry of Youth and Sport with screening expected to be on Wednesday, August 21.

Former commissioner of police in Lagos and Benue states, Fatai Owoseni was appointed by the governor of Oyo state as his special adviser on security matters. The governor, according to a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Taiwo Adisa, approved the appointment, which took effect from Thursday, August 1.

The statement indicated that Owoseni’s appointment falls in line with the recognition of security as one of the four pillars of the Makinde administration in Oyo state. The governor, in the letter of appointment, wished Owoseni, who has been working as a security consultant since his retirement from the police after 35 years of meritorious service, success in his new assignment. Governor Makinde also urged Owoseni to discharge his duties with absolute loyalty and dedication.
