Many injured and one person has been killed and several people have been shot in a shocking attack in Washington DC according to reports.
According to local police, five other people have been shot. Local police have reported that at least two people are in critical condition. Moreover, as reported by US journalist, Steve Herman, the attack occurred just 3.5km (2.1 miles) from the White House.
Five men and one woman were shot in the incident that occurred in the 1300 block of Columbia Road NW, about 2 km from the White House, at around 10:06 p.m. .
One of the men has been pronounced dead. The five other victims have been transported to local hospitals.
There have been no reports on suspects.
It has not been confirmed if there are any more casualties.
In a statement, Commander Stuart Emerman said: "Untis responded to the scene where we found six individuals with gunshot wounds.
