Senator Shehu Sani has
reacted to the disqualification of Lionheart movie by the Oscar Academy.
The movie which features
Genevieve Nnaji was Nigeria’s submission for Best International Feature. It got
disqualified because it goes against the policy of the category.
The policy states that
movies have to be mostly non-English before they can make it into the category
for Best International Feature.
Lionheart only has 11
minutes out of its 95 minutes in non-English.
Reacting to the
disqualification, Shehu Sani tweeted:
“The reasons given for the
#Oscars disqualification of LION HEART only exposes the degree of their
ignorance of the World outside of theirs and their discriminatory and
contemptuous views about African history and our ways”.
