Police in Anambra State
declared him wanted over the killing of two policemen at his residence in
Oraifite on Monday.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer of
leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has been
declared wanted.
The state’s police
commissioner, John Abang, in a video clip and a statement by the command’s
spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, on Tuesday, urged members of the public with any
information of his whereabouts to avail the police or any other security
agencies of such information.
“Gentleman, I will like to
let Nigerians to know that as we speak, Barrister Ejiofor, an IPOB member and
his cohorts have been declared wanted by the command,” Mr Abang said.
“And I will seek the
cooperation of law-abiding Nigerians from North, South, East and West, wherever
they find this individual, they should report to the nearest police station or
any other security agency for possible arrest and prosecution.”
Mr Kanu had accused the
police and army of invading his lawyer’s house and killing three IPOB members.
But the police said it received
a complaint of abduction, assault occasioning harm and malicious damage to
property against Mr Ejiofor, prompting officers to invade his residence
