According to
TMZ, the WAP star and actress filed court documents in Georgia on Tuesday and
the documents show it is a ‘contested divorce.’
American
rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, popularly known as Cardi B is set to leave
her rapper husband Offset after filing for divorce amidst another cheating
rumours.
The couple
got married in secret in 2017 before confirming the news the following year and
share a daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus.
The
Grammy-winning rapper is currently separated from Offset and also wants legal
custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Kulture.
Cardi B
previously accused Offset of infidelity in 2018 just months after Offset was
allegedly involved in a sex tape scandal with another woman in 2017.
Addressing
the issue on Twitter, Cardi B wrote: “No, it’s not right for a [n****] to
cheat…But what you want me to do? Cardi wrote.
Go f*** me
another n****? Start all over again and get cheated on again? This s*** happens
to everyone and I be too, you too…People handle they relationship different
soo.’
Offset later
begged his wife for a second chance.
He said at
the time: “I only got one birthday wish and that’s to get my wife back Cardi.”
“We’re going
through a lot of things right now, a lot of things in the media. I want to
apologize to you Cardi. I embarrassed you. I made you go crazy.”
He also
apologised for “partaking in activity that [he] shouldn’t have been partaking
in.”
The couple
decided to give their relationship another shot at the time.
At the start
of Janurary 2020, Cardi B addressed her husband’s infidelity during a candid
interview with Vogue.
“I believe in
forgiveness. I prayed on it. Me and my husband, we prayed on it. We had priests
come to us. And we just came to an understanding like bro, it’s really us
against the world.”
More
recently, Cardi B has opened up about her sex life and admitted that she was
‘lonely’ in lockdown.
Speaking to
her Instagram followers at the time, Cardi said: “I have sex so many times, and
now I’m on my period, I can’t even f** k.”
