
A journalist, Onifade Pelumi who was reportedly covering the scenes at the site of the palliative storage center in Lagos, has been found dead after he was allegedly arrested by Lagos State Task Force.
The
management of Gboah TV said their staff was arrested by the Lagos State Task
Force at the Ministry of Agriculture, Abbattoir. It was further gathered that
the Police are currently investigating the matter and have assured the
management, the family and community that the investigation will be thorough
and swift.
The
management of TV station wrote;
The Lekki
Concession Company, operators of the Lekki toll gate, has submitted video
footage recorded by its surveillance camera on the night of October 20 when
soldiers allegedly fired gunshots at #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll
gate.
The Managing
Director of LCC, Abayomi Omomuwa, submitted the video footage to the Judicial
Panel of Inquiry set up by the Lagos State Government to probe the Lekki
shootings as well as complaints of human rights abuses against members of the
disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad today November.
Tendering the
video footage to the panel, Omomuwa said, “I can confirm that inside here is
the video footage that our surveillance camera was able to record for the 20th
of October.”
The hearing
is still ongoing.
