Forced to move into Sir Richard’s sprawling £2 million Moorhill estate in Dorset during lockdown, he became “consumed by hatred” and eventually launched a “ferocious and sustained” attack on the couple in April, Winchester Crown Court was told.
According
to report, man who stabbed one of Britain’s wealthiest property tycoons to
death and left his own mother with life-changing injuries told a friend that he
contemplated murdering them “day and night”, a court has heard.
Thomas
Schreiber repeatedly knifed Anne Schreiber, his “toxic” and “gold digging”
mother, and Sir Richard Sutton, a hotel owner, after harbouring resentment for
years over the way he claimed they had treated him.
Jurors
heard how Mr Schreiber, 35, had previously sent a chilling text message to a
friend about a month before the attack, saying: “I want them to suffer.”
In the
message, he wrote: “I’m so sad to report that my mind is consumed with hatred
of the very worst kind towards my family. They really hurt me, betrayed me and
destroyed all trust.
“Simply put, I contemplate murdering them all morning, day and night. It’s not what I want to think about, but it’s the truth.”

Sir Richard, who last year was listed at number 435 on The Sunday Times Rich List, with an estimated family fortune of £301 million, had been in a relationship with Ms Schreiber, a Danish-born physiotherapist, for many years.
However, jurors were told that her son resented the couple, describing his mother as “toxic” and a “gold digger” and saying he did not have a good word to say about Sir Richard.
On April 7, police were called to Moorhill following numerous reports that Mr Schreiber had attacked his mother and Sir Richard.
Using a kitchen knife, Mr Schreiber stabbed Sir Richard to death and used another blade to attack his mother.
The court
heard how he had first attacked him downstairs, but then followed him upstairs
where he stabbed him a further five times.
The eighty-three
year-old, who had two children and five grandchildren, was found dead on the
landing of his home, while Ms Schreiber was lying in the kitchen where she had
suffered 10 stab wounds but was still alive.
